Madrid
Sierra, Segovia y Toledo.
Palaces and Mountains.
While being one of the most visited cities in Spain, few people know that a few kilometres from Madrid, there is a great natural diversity. The Guadarrama National Park is the heart of the natural spaces that surround Madrid. In La Pedriza, where huge granite blocks create a landscape close to the ones seen in films of the Lord of the Rings, we can hike and try to get lost for a time into nature, finding goats and vultures easily. A rock climbing and hiking paradise, you can also experience it by bicycle, joining many of the little towns from the Northern part of La Sierra de Madrid to Segovia Area, El Escorial and the foothills of Sierra de Gredos where we can try some meditation and taste organic food and wine in a local guest house farm.
CITADEL
In Segovia, there is one of the best preserved Middle Age castles as well as an impressive roman aqueduct and the Royal Country Palaces where the kings used to run away from the fierce summer sun of Madrid.
Toledo is another jewel that we can visit nearby. Not much to add to the famous walled city, ancient capital of the country. Not far we can visit an unexpected formation of gullies, not far from the city. If you like wine. In the south we can visit the royal wineries in Aranjuez,
Enjoy a hike trip to La Pedriza National Park, el Hayedo de Montejo, the most southern beech forest in Europe or enjoy a bike ride from the Sierra de Gredos and try a meditation session in the sunset.
