Morocco
From Marrakech to the sand.
The land of 1001 nights.
No matter how many times it is repeated, it never ceases to be true. Morocco is a journey for the senses. The indigo of the northern peoples, that soft green of the Rif mountain range and the ocher of the adobe and the desert in the south. The smell of spices from the markets spreads throughout every corner of the country. Visiting the Jemaa el-Fna Square in Marrakech is like discovering a place that many of us had idealized and even dreamed about for many years after some literary or cinematographic inspiration. A magical place where the aroma of couscous, leather and spices are mixed with the hypnotic sound of street music that makes what is known as the «largest open-air restaurant in the world» worth it; and as Oscar Wilde said, the greatest of joys.
MOROCCO
The imposing massif of the Atlas Mountains stands between Marrakesh and the desert, with peaks that reach 13,000 feet in altitude. Simple and friendly people live in isolated mountain villages, offering traditional Moroccan hospitality and curiosity towards travellers.
In the south, you will be surrounded by the landscapes that are seen in films such as Lawrence of Arabia. We find tiny roads easy to ride on a bicycle, surrounded by an impressive almost martian landscape. In the town of Ouarzazate and in the kasbahs or ancient adobe cities you can find the gates of the desert, literally in the middle of the roads that seem to lead to nowhere. Even in the midst of that immensity, we always find a wonderful couscous or a Tajin along with a tea to delight the senses. The local food is simple and exquisite.
The palm groves of the Draa take us through an oasis of greenery, deep within the desert, where you can sleep in a traditional camel merchant camp under the most incredible starry sky you have ever seen. We can visit Jimmy Hendrix favorite destination, Essaouira on the coast, to try surf and kite.
