Sobrarbe & Ordesa national park

Alto Pirineo.

The mountains that came out of the sea.

Its hard to believe thatThe Pyrenees mountains started to grow in an area that was covered by the ocean and where we can still finding fossilized shells at the top of the mountains. The Sunriders’ connection with the Pyrenees comes from afar. We love the water and the mountains and this part of the Pyrenees offers it to us in abundance in a genuine and generous way.

El Sobrarbe is one of those areas that you must visit at least once in your lifetime. The Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park offers high mountain landscapes of incredible beauty, with a mild climate and an ease of access that is hardly comparable to other mountain ranges in the world. Birds such as the golden eagle or the lammergeyer, chamois or marmots stand out from a fauna and flora as rich as the land they inhabit and can be seen with relative ease.

PIRINEO

Monte Perdido, the limestone giant, stands out over valleys and peaks that seem to be standing still in time, so far away and yet so close to civilization. The border with France is blurred between rock and snow giving the neighboring country the highest waterfall in Europe and reminding us of the illusion of the limits that men insist on drawing on their maps. The Ordesa Valley takes your breath away. Observing from the top of the valley, it remains an almost mystical experience. By bike or on foot, you can imagine that it was once submerged under the ocean, a sea of trees and rocks.

Disconnect in a luxury camp by a mountain lake created for you where you can eat and rest enjoying the authentic pleasure of being in the mountains after a hike. We have many chances to practice kayaking, rafting, canyoning or enjoy a swim in crystal clear waters in some of its creek pools. From the mountains to the fertile valleys, we also discover the wineries in the area, stone villages and the authentic people who inhabit them. The area is wild and at the same time full of culture and traditions that must be observed closely to be understood, to further strengthen our love for this land.

From Ainsa the Capital of the Sobrarbe, we can do all our different activities from e-bike, hiking in Ordesa, walk with a pack mule uphill to set up a glamping camp next to the lakes, canyoning, visit the osprey and Egyptian vultures sanctuaries, Spanish and yoga lessons and even fly in a helicopter.
